Paving and tiling have been around as long as bricks have, that’s why we have so many different options on the market today.
Starting from the standard brick size up the large 1M by 1M natural stone pavers or tiles, there are many different ways and patterns you can lay them in as well to achieve different looks, starting with the most common the stretcher bond, this is the same as brickwork where you start with a half cut and every second line meets up ,stack bond this is where they are just laid in straight lines one on top of the other, basket weave or for driveways we use 90 or 45 degree herringbone which gives us minimal movement with the high traffic areas
With the pavers we leave a 3mm gap where we sweep in a fine sand in to lock it all in together and stop chips or damage to the pavers, the difference between tiles and pavers is the thickness and they way they are laid, with a tile we use a tile adhesive to fix it down the either a sand and cement screed or straight to a slab then the joints are grouted with sand and cement to lock it all in, this is more used in wet areas such as a pool or spa , waterline tiles, or inside a bathroom which we also cover, but no matter what your after a natural stone or concrete look there is a tile or paver out there for you and we are the specialist to install it for you.
